When it comes to dental care, avoiding cavities is generally our main focus. However, it starts by preventing the acid-producing bacteria that produce them. Unfortunately, these bacteria have a defense of their own. They live in little biofilms which we know as plaque. Plaque is what protects them from the natural defenses in our mouth. Similar biofilms even exist in nature. For example, you can find slime-covered rocks in rivers. This slime is a biodome for the bacteria that live on the rocks. So how do we penetrate these biodomes? The trick is creating a special mixture to brush onto your teeth every night. You will want to mix 1/4 teaspoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide and baking soda with 1/2 a cup of water. Then brush this mixture on your teeth before bed after you brush your teeth like normal. You will be amazed at the results.
